About the Role
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist in Microbiology, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality and innovative diagnostic laboratory services. Your work will directly impact the wellbeing of our patients, consumers, and their whanau. The role requires flexibility and a commitment to excellence in a busy laboratory environment.
About You
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- A current annual practicing certificate and registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council, or eligibility to register with the Council.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A flexible approach to shift work.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- 2-5 years of experience in a hospital-based microbiology setting.
- Experience, knowledge, or qualifications in biochemistry.
- Experience, knowledge, or qualifications in molecular testing.
In this role, you will be required to work across both Biochemistry and Microbiology, participating in a 24/7 roster to cover North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital sites. We are looking for a team player who is well-organized and capable of managing competing priorities effectively.
