About the Role We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Radiology Services team at Health New Zealand, Canterbury | Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha. Our Molecular Imaging Therapy Department, located at Christchurch Hospital, offers a range of services, including Radionuclide Imaging, Radio-pharmacy, and Therapy services for both primary and secondary care providers in the Canterbury area and across other South Island hospitals. As a tertiary center accredited for AANMS training, Christchurch Hospital is equipped with two dedicated Siemens SPECT-CT cameras (Intevo Bold and ProSpecta) and has a diverse workforce that includes Nuclear Medicine Specialists, a Nuclear Medicine Trainee, Radiology Registrar, Nuclear Medicine Physicist, Registered Nurse, and Nuclear Medicine Technologists. In this role, you will perform a variety of procedures that involve acute, planned, inpatient, and outpatient work. You will coordinate workloads and collaborate with clinical and support staff to ensure seamless patient care. The position is permanent, part-time at 0.8 FTE, with the possibility of increasing hours in the future. Our operational hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a rostered Radio-pharmacy shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Specific days of work will be negotiated. About You As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, your responsibilities will encompass Radionuclide Imaging, Radio-pharmacy, Radionuclide Therapy, Invivo/Invitro Tests, Radionuclide Administration, and Radiation Management. You will be expected to: - Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clear communication with patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues. - Uphold professional responsibilities by adhering to Health New Zealand policies and procedures, relevant codes of practice, health and safety standards, and departmental quality system procedures. - Apply your specialized skills in all areas of Nuclear Medicine practice to deliver the highest quality service to our patients within the allocated resources. It is essential that you hold registration with the NZ MRTB in the Nuclear Medicine Technologist scope of practice and possess a current practicing certificate.
