    About the Company At Odyssey House Christchurch, we are dedicated to empowering and inspiring individuals on their journey to recovery. We offer a range of services that support tangata whai ora affected by alcohol and drugs, mental health challenges, and related issues. Our approach integrates adventure therapy principles and group work to foster healing and personal growth. About the Role We are currently seeking an energetic and compassionate Outdoor Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will facilitate therapeutic outdoor experiences, including activities such as tramping, camping, and group interactions. You will lead adventure-based therapy programs aimed at promoting connection and developing coping skills among our clients. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work within strength-based relationships with tangata whai ora, their whanau, and your colleagues. Additionally, you will manage the administrative tasks associated with outdoor experiences to ensure smooth operations. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have: - Proven experience delivering therapeutic group sessions in natural or outdoor environments. - Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Occupational Therapy, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field. - Experience working within the alcohol and other drugs (AOD), mental health, and criminal justice sectors. - The ability to work in a manner that honors Te Tiriti O Waitangi. - An understanding of trauma and experience working with individuals who have been affected by it. - Flexibility to work weekends and overnight when needed. - A clean and full driver's license.
