    About the Company At Extrastaff, we are a leading Labour Hire Company dedicated to providing skilled workers for infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand. We pride ourselves on our commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency, and we are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team. About the Role We are hiring full-time Structural Steel Fabricators to contribute to various infrastructure and commercial construction projects nationwide. In this role, you will be responsible for the placement, securing, and tying of structural steel components based on engineering specifications. Our positions are full-time and permanent, with site locations determined by project demand. Key Responsibilities In this position, your primary responsibilities will include: - Interpreting engineering plans and drawings to accurately place and secure structural steel components. - Tying reinforcement steel using the appropriate techniques for various reinforcement systems. - Collaborating effectively with site teams to ensure the timely and safe installation of steelwork. - Complying with all health, safety, and quality standards on-site. - Working efficiently within large construction teams while adhering to strict deadlines. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have: - A minimum of 2 years of experience working with structural steel placement and reinforcement tying, either locally or internationally. - The ability to read and work from technical and engineering drawings. - Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity. - Knowledge of safety procedures and quality control in steel construction. - Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure construction projects is preferred. - Relevant trade experience or qualifications will be considered advantageous. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is initially listed in Canterbury, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project needs. The regions include: North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland. We welcome applicants from any of these regions and ask that you be willing to travel or relocate as needed. Please note that relocation costs will be covered by the company. Benefits We offer competitive pay ranging from $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours of work per week. Our roles are full-time and permanent, and we provide the necessary PPE and tools for your work. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on major infrastructure and commercial projects, gaining valuable experience in the field.
