About the Company Tradestaff Global is currently seeking expressions of interest from skilled tradespeople to join our team at McMurdo Station in Antarctica for the upcoming summer season. This unique opportunity allows you to work in one of the most isolated yet stunning locations in the world. The summer season will run from October 2025 to March 2026, with deployment expected around October. Return dates will be confirmed at a later stage. About the Role Working in construction in Antarctica offers a truly distinct experience. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are willing to work hard and collaborate as part of a team. You will be involved in a large commercial construction project, and we require a variety of skills and backgrounds, including: - Tile Installers - Flooring Installers - Painters These roles demand a strong work ethic and a commitment to supporting your colleagues. Requirements Please note that due to travel restrictions, we can only accept applications from New Zealand and US citizens who hold New Zealand or US passports and are currently residing and working in New Zealand. Additionally, candidates must meet the following requirements: - Vaccination against Flu, Tdap, and MMR - Willingness to work long hours, six days a week - Ability to commit to extended periods on the ice, as these are not “fly in fly out” roles - Successful completion of medical and dental checks, security clearance, and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing - A Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence and a clean criminal record - Patience and diligence through a lengthy application process, including travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams (we will cover testing and flights if coming from outside the Bay of Plenty) Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package, including: - Flights provided from any major New Zealand airport - Food, shared accommodation, and travel insurance - A pay rate of $66.11 per hour on a contract basis, with payment made fortnightly in NZD for 54 hours of work each week - All necessary personal protective equipment supplied This opportunity provides not only a chance to earn a good income while saving money but also the experience of a lifetime and the chance to build lasting friendships.
