About the Role
We are looking for resilient, energetic, and conscientious individuals who are passionate about supporting people with health-related issues or disabilities. As a support worker, you will play a crucial role in helping the individuals we serve live their best possible lives. This position is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to build strong, trust-based relationships with those you support.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering and bathing
- Helping with household management and meal preparation
- Supporting exercise programs
- Facilitating community access
- Providing bowel, bladder, and catheter care
- Assisting with moving and handling, including using hoists and manual transfers
- Offering medication support
Job Location: Christchurch & Oxford
Employment Type: Permanent (30+ hours) or Part-Time (up to 29 hours)

Days of Work: This role involves community-based work with rotating rosters, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts. We are open to discussing your preferred hours of work during the recruitment process, as the duration of hours may vary based on the specific needs of the individuals we support.
About You
We are seeking individuals who possess a calm yet confident demeanor and can demonstrate resilience in understanding the challenges faced by our service users. The role of a support worker comes with various responsibilities that can be both challenging and fulfilling. It is incredibly rewarding to be a part of the support that enables individuals to thrive in their communities.
Candidate Pre-Requisites:
- Ideally, prior personal care experience is preferred
- Familiarity with complex medical conditions, such as spinal injuries or traumatic brain injuries
- A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is advantageous; however, we are also open to candidates looking to enter the healthcare sector, as comprehensive training can be provided
- Access to a car and the ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is essential)
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
- Legal right to work in New Zealand is a requirement

- Pay Band: $24.13 - $30.03 per hour based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017, with hourly rates determined by the equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity
