About the Role
We are currently seeking a Sterile Services Technician to join our friendly facility located near Burwood Forest. Our work environment is supportive and conducive to professional growth, with convenient parking available. In this role within our Sterile Services Unit, which is part of the Operating Suite, you will engage in a variety of tasks essential for providing Sterile Services both internally and externally.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, consisting of 8-hour shifts between 0600 and 2200 hours, with staggered start times. This position does not require weekend or public holiday work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing direct technical processing of reusable medical devices (RMDs)
- Ensuring decontamination is accomplished through the appropriate washing processes
- Selecting and implementing the correct sterilization processes (Steam, Sterrad, etc.) as needed
- Inspecting and testing RMDs as required for each specific device
- Completing all necessary documentation accurately
About You
We are looking for an experienced Sterile Services Technician who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Physical fitness, as the role involves some lifting
- Completion of the NZSSA Sterilising Technology Certification
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to beginning this journey and taking ownership of your professional development
