National Construction Manager

About the Role We are seeking a National Construction Manager to oversee our construction function across all Wolfbrook developments. This strategic leadership role requires extensive construction experience, strong people management skills, and a commercial mindset. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while prioritizing safety at all times. In this role, you will lead, support, and develop a high-performing national construction team. You will also collaborate closely with internal departments, including Development and Quantity Surveying. Key Responsibilities - Provide strategic and operational leadership to the national construction team. - Ensure that all construction sites adhere to agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. - Ensure that all developments meet or exceed the expectations of our homeowners and investor clients. - Foster a strong internal culture that emphasizes safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Lead by example to promote and enforce robust health and safety practices across all construction sites. - Collaborate with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure effective coordination between planning, budgeting, and on-site execution. - Conduct regular site visits and project walk-throughs to assess build quality and compliance. - Oversee construction progress and report to the Executive Team with transparency and accuracy. - Drive the adoption of new building technologies and methods that enhance efficiency and support continuous improvement. - Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. - Actively participate in Wolfbrook's Leadership Team to contribute to broader business strategies and success. About You You will have proven leadership experience in residential construction at either a national or regional level. A deep understanding of the New Zealand construction environment, including building codes, compliance requirements, and project delivery, is essential. We seek a candidate with strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. You should be passionate about providing high-quality homes that meet client and investor expectations. Additionally, you will be a confident communicator, capable of building effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of modern building practices and methodologies, along with a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and excellence, is important for this role. Flexibility to travel regularly across New Zealand to ensure site performance and team support is also required. Qualifications & Experience - Over 10 years of experience in construction leadership roles, preferably within residential property development. - Proven experience managing teams and projects across multiple regions. - Strong knowledge of NZS 3910, the Building Act, and Health & Safety legislation.
