About the Role
We are seeking physicians to join our team in Northland, where you will provide acute medical services. This opportunity includes a mix of new and replacement positions across several specialties, including:
- General and Acute Medicine
- Rheumatology
- Respiratory Medicine
- Gastroenterology, including a visiting hepatologist
- Neurology
- Cardiology
- Infectious Disease
- Endocrinology and Diabetes
- Healthcare of the Elderly
- Maternal Medicine
- Oncology and Haematology
- Renal Medicine
Our department is equipped with several new facilities, including a laboratory, endoscopy suite, and cardiac catheterization suite. We also have funding secured for a new hospital, which is currently in the planning stages.
The focus of this role will be on acute medicine, encompassing Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), hot clinics, short stay wards, and the Emergency Department. The position includes participation in the on-call roster, which requires some weekend work, with a rostered day off following weekend shifts.

About You
To be considered for this role, you must either hold or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in an Internal Medicine Vocational scope of practice. If you are currently overseas or not yet registered, we are happy to assist you with the application process for MCNZ registration.
