About the Role
We are seeking a Crew Lead to join our team in South Wairarapa. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our water and drainage systems meet the region's needs in an environmentally safe and hygienic manner. You will also focus on meeting the highest standards of safety, quality, and service delivery.
As the Crew Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing complex maintenance, reactive work, and upgrades. The role requires a hands-on approach for at least 80% of your time, where you will lead, assist, coach, and develop our service crews.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction and Maintenance) (Level 3), preferably with strands in Drinking Water or Stormwater/Wastewater and Trenchless Technologies, and be actively working towards Level 4.
- A full New Zealand class 1 and 2 license.
- Experience in the operations of three waters assets.
- Proven supervisory skills along with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with the general public.
- The ability to read and understand plans.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities for staff development.
- A strong knowledge and commitment to health and safety practices.
- Familiarity with plant and equipment capabilities.
- Planning, time management, organizational, and computer skills, including knowledge of CMMS and GIS for effective work management.
