About the Role
We are seeking a Field Technical Specialist to join our team, providing essential in-field support to our dealerships and distributors across New Zealand. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about agricultural machinery and enjoy tackling complex technical challenges. As a Field Technical Specialist, you will offer expert guidance, diagnostics, and solutions for our range of tractors, while collaborating closely with dealers and customers. If you thrive in a problem-solving environment and are eager to contribute to innovation in the ag-tech sector, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for providing direct technical support to authorized dealers and distributors by investigating complex technical issues in the field across New Zealand. You will coach and mentor dealer and distributor technical teams to enhance their product knowledge and diagnostic skills.
Your responsibilities will also include conducting dealer and customer visits to resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively. You will prepare detailed technical field reports to assist with issue tracking and escalation, identify recurring product issues from the field, and provide feedback to improve customer satisfaction.
Collaboration is key; you will work with other technical and training specialists to share workloads as needed. This includes administering THD requests, contributing to Level 1 technical training material creation and coordination, and driving the completion of product improvement programs in the market. You will also support the use of technical support applications and digital platforms.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need trade-related qualifications in an industrial maintenance field and a minimum of five years of relevant technical experience. Experience with agricultural and/or construction equipment is highly desirable, along with technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems.
Excellent diagnostic skills with modern electronic systems and hydraulics are essential, as are strong interpersonal and communication abilities. You should possess high-level analytical and problem-solving skills, be a self-starter with excellent time management capabilities, and demonstrate resourcefulness, determination, and adaptability under pressure. Proficiency in using the MS Office Suite is required, and you should be willing to travel frequently across New Zealand.
