Paediatric Junior Registrars Rotorua Hospital
We are seeking enthusiastic Paediatric Junior Registrars to join our recently refurbished children's unit at Rotorua Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Lakes for your 2026 Training Year. About the Role
In this role, you will be a vital part of the Paediatric team within our modernized children's unit. You will have the opportunity to work in a smaller hospital environment, gaining experience in both general and acute medicine alongside a supportive team of consultants, house officers, medical students, and nursing staff. Our roster is designed to allow you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Rotorua, featuring longer summers and shorter winters.
About the Location
Our department is composed of Paediatricians with diverse sub-specialty interests, including neonatal care, community paediatrics, and mental health, all supported by a dedicated team of specialist nurses and visiting sub-specialists.
Lakes is situated in the central North Island of New Zealand - Aotearoa. Rotorua is approximately 230 kilometers southeast of Auckland, and Taupo is about 80 kilometers south of Rotorua. This area is renowned for its geothermal wonders and scenic lakes, including Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. Rotorua and Taupo offer a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and water sports, as well as rich opportunities to engage with traditional Māori culture.

About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or are eligible for general or provisional general registration. You can check your eligibility by visiting the MCNZ website.
- Completed at least six months of Paediatrics at a Senior House Officer or Registrar level.
