About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Otolaryngologist to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for a transformational leader who can provide clinical expertise and deliver quality care to our region.
Located in Turanganui-a-Kiwa (Gisborne), our city of 50,000 residents is known for its stunning natural beauty and Mediterranean climate. With easy access to outdoor activities and a relaxed lifestyle, you will find that commuting is a breeze, as there are no traffic lights in town.
Our 100-bed hospital is staffed with both senior and junior doctors, focusing on providing excellent care while more complex cases are managed at tertiary centres. As part of our team of three Otolaryngologists, you will work collaboratively to improve health equity and outcomes for Māori and Pasifika populations. The team is supported by a Clinical Nurse Specialist and an Audiologist.
In this role, you will see a diverse range of patients and perform various procedures, including endoscopic sinus surgery, middle ear surgery, facial skin cancer surgery, and pediatric ENT procedures. Major head and neck surgeries are conducted at Waikato Hospital. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to educate and supervise surgical staff and medical students.
There are numerous opportunities to develop subspecialist interests that align with the community's needs, and we maintain strong collegial relationships with other departments and allied health professionals.
