About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time Chef Assistant to join our culinary team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a world-class kitchen while surrounded by stunning natural beauty. As a Chef Assistant, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality meals and supporting our culinary operations.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have at least one year of experience in a professional kitchen. A Food Safety Certificate and a New Zealand Certificate in Cookery Level 3 or higher are desirable, but not mandatory. We are looking for a team player who possesses excellent communication skills and a sense of manaakitanga. Being organized, reliable, and eager to learn are also key attributes we value.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with food preparation and plating to ensure high-quality meals are served.
- Following recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistency and control costs.
- Upholding kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
- Supporting the Head Chef and the team during busy service periods.
- Assisting with stock handling, cleaning, and occasionally providing front-of-house support.
