We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Deli Manager to join our vibrant team.
About the Role
In this hands-on position, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our Deli. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, purchasing, organizing, and leading our team to ensure smooth operations. You will manage staff and schedules while also engaging in cooking, ordering, and presenting goods, all while upholding our department's high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Deli Manager in overseeing daily deli operations, including stock management, ordering, and food preparation.
- Supervise and lead a team of deli assistants, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Ensure that products are attractively displayed and that stock levels are consistently maintained.
- Assist in the training and development of team members.
- Support the staff rostering process.
Requirements
To thrive in our team, we prefer candidates who bring the following:
- Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment is advantageous.
- A passion for customer service.
- Experience with stock merchandising in a retail setting would be beneficial.
- Good computer skills.
- Experience in coaching and training staff.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and multitasking skills.
- Flexibility and reliability, with a strong work ethic.
Hours
This is a fixed-term position for nine months, covering parental leave. The workdays are Sunday through Thursday, and specific hours will be discussed during the interview process.
