About the Role We are seeking a motivated and high-performing student to join our Category Strategy team in Christchurch for a summer internship, running from November to January. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience by working on cutting-edge projects that merge AI innovation with new product development within the dairy industry. As part of your role, you will be involved in the development of an AI-assisted platform that maps insights to Synlait's capabilities and new product development (NPD) concepts. Your specific tasks will include: - Developing a comprehensive product database of emerging ingredients, exploring their potential applications in new technologies. This will inform strategies for incorporating these ingredients into Synlait's facilities, focusing on understanding their functional applications. - Building a pricing database for nutritional products to enhance our understanding of the competitive market landscape and support the development of new product concepts. - Creating an AI-based tool to generate insights that will shape our research and development pipeline. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should be a student completing practical work or currently in your 3rd or 4th year of study in Computer Science or Data Science. We are looking for candidates who: - Are curious about the dairy industry and Synlait's operations. - Have a proactive mindset and a strong eagerness to learn. - Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. - Have a keen attention to detail and accuracy. - Demonstrate creativity and a flair for thinking outside the box.
