About the Role We are seeking a motivated and high-performing student to join our Category Strategy team in Christchurch this summer, from November to January. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain real-world experience while working on cutting-edge projects that integrate AI innovation with new product development in the dairy industry. As part of this role, you will contribute to the development of an AI-assisted platform that maps insights to Synlait's capabilities and new product development concepts. Your key responsibilities will include: - Creating a comprehensive product database of emerging ingredients, exploring their potential applications in new technologies. The insights generated will help inform strategies for incorporating these ingredients into Synlait's facilities, focusing on their functional applications. - Building a pricing database for nutritional products to enhance our understanding of the competitive market landscape and to support the development of new product concepts. - Developing an AI-based tool to generate insights that will shape our research and development pipeline. This position is ideal for students completing practical work or for those currently in their 3rd or 4th year of study in Computer Science or Data Science. Requirements We are looking for students who are: - Curious about the dairy industry and Synlait's operations. - Eager to learn with a proactive mindset. - Strong communicators with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. - Detail-oriented and accurate in their work. - Creative thinkers who enjoy exploring innovative solutions.
