About the Role
We are currently seeking an ICU Registrar to join our team at Nelson Hospital on a fixed-term basis for six months. This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide support to various departments requiring outreach and critical care services.
We have seven full-time roles available, with shifts scheduled from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (day), 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (mid), and 10:00 PM to 8:30 AM (night). Weekend and public holiday shifts will be from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (day) and 10:00 PM to 8:30 AM (night). For further details, please refer to the position description.
About the Team/Service/Location
You will become an integral part of our multi-disciplinary intensive care team, which includes a mix of intensivists and anaesthetists. In this secondary care setting, you will participate in the Intensive Care roster and support our Patient at Risk (PAR) service. Our ICU is currently working towards achieving training accreditation from the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM).

About You
To be considered for the ICU Registrar position, you must be registered with the New Zealand Medical Council and have a minimum of PGY3 status, along with at least two years of experience. We are looking for candidates who are eager to bring their skills and experience to a smaller provincial hospital and appreciate the lifestyle that this setting offers.
Candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand or be able to obtain a visa. You can check your eligibility for registration via the New Zealand Medical Council's website.
