About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and compassionate Residential House Manager to oversee our home in Avonhead. This position is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide, support, and motivate a team of 18 support staff to provide high-quality, person-centered care.
In this role, you will embody our values and lead by example, working alongside your team to assist residents with personal care, household tasks, and their overall health and well-being. You will be an advocate for the principles of Enabling Good Lives, ensuring that each resident has the opportunity to actively participate in decisions concerning their lives and work towards achieving their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 18 support staff
- Oversee household finances and staff rosters
- Liaise with families, health professionals, and external service providers
- Ensure that residents' needs are met while fostering independence and choice
- Work a combination of morning and afternoon shifts (Monday to Friday), providing both hands-on support and leadership at various times
- Balance administrative duties with direct support work
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a compassionate approach to care, and the ability to effectively manage a team. Experience in a similar role is essential, along with a passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
