About the Role
We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for experienced Nurse Practitioners to join our dynamic Emergency Department Team at Wairarapa Hospital. In this role, you will provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership to enhance patient treatment and care planning in the Emergency Department.
Our Nurse Practitioner team operates within an interdisciplinary model, ensuring that we meet the diverse requirements of our patients. You will practice both independently and collaboratively, utilizing advanced health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment implementation for both adult and pediatric patients. Your efforts will contribute to reducing waiting times, minimizing length of stay in the Emergency Department, and increasing patient satisfaction.
In addition to clinical practice, you will provide leadership and clinical expertise to optimize patient outcomes and develop effective models of care. This includes engaging in quality initiatives, teaching, and mentoring within the department.
About You
To be considered for this role, you must hold a New Zealand Registered Nurse Practitioner qualification, along with a current Annual Practising Certificate. You should have recent clinical experience in an emergency care setting and possess a solid understanding of current nursing issues and acute care practices. Knowledge of medico-legal and ethical responsibilities is essential for this position.
