About the Role
We are currently seeking a Te Roopu Kaitiaki, a co-existing alcohol and other drug clinician or Registered Health Professional with a minimum of three years of practice. This role will primarily support our youth alcohol and other drug (AOD) and mental health services throughout the Wairarapa region. You will be involved in providing case consultations and specialist clinical assessments for young individuals experiencing co-existing issues. Additionally, you will advocate for the needs of youth with AOD and co-existing problems within various services.
About the Team
You will be joining the Te Ratonga Aranga Mokupuna Arangi Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (TE R.A.M.A. CAMHS) in Wairarapa, a forward-thinking team that serves both rural and urban populations. Our multidisciplinary team includes Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, Clinical Psychologists, Community Support Workers, Administrators, Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrists, and a Kaituriki Cultural Support Worker.
We strongly value our team culture and actively encourage ongoing professional development. Our service is well-supported by the Paediatrics team at Wairarapa Hospital, and we collaborate closely with other agencies such as the Child Development Team, Special Education Services, and Oranga Tamariki. Additionally, Ratonga Rua-o-Porirua serves as our forensic, rehabilitation, and intellectual disability inpatient unit.
About You
We are looking for a Registered Health Professional with a Mental Health and/or Addictions scope of practice. You should possess a Current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and have experience working in youth mental health and/or substance misuse. A strong interest and demonstrated competency in mental health and addictions practice are essential.
You should be confident in working independently, with whanau, and in group settings. Good networking skills are also important, along with the ability to deliver training and supervision. Ideally, you will have at least three years of postgraduate experience in youth mental health or substance use disorders, with a DAPAANZ qualification preferred.
