About the Role We are currently seeking a Registered Midwife Clinical Coach for a permanent part-time position at Wairarapa Hospital. This role offers an opportunity to provide practical clinical education within the workplace, showcasing effective, evidence-informed, and culturally safe practices. As a Midwife Clinical Coach, you will collaborate closely with new graduate midwives (MFYP), new staff members in the maternity service, and those participating in the Return to Practice (RTP) program. Your support will be instrumental in helping these individuals transition into confident practitioners in the clinical environment. Additionally, you will assist midwives refreshing their clinical skills or knowledge during a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). This role operates in a supernumerary capacity, allowing you to foster a learning environment that encourages the development of midwifery skills and knowledge, ultimately reducing staff stress and enhancing retention. The position is part-time, requiring 24 hours of work per fortnight (0.3 FTE). About You We are looking for a Registered Midwife with a minimum of five years of experience. Ideally, you will have a background as a Clinical Coach or Midwife Educator and hold or be eligible for full registration with no conditions on your scope of practice from the Midwifery Council of New Zealand.
