About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurse with leadership experience to manage our Community Nursing Service. This is a critical front-line leadership position within Health NZ Wairarapa. The role involves operational management and leadership of our community nursing teams, which include Clinical Nurse Specialists, District Nursing, Oncology, and Kahukura (palliative) nursing teams, as well as home support and administration teams. Together, these teams deliver specialist community nursing and support services that enable individuals to thrive within their whānau and community.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our Community Nursing teams provide community and outpatient services from two locations, Masterton and Greytown. We deliver care directly to clients in their homes and in outpatient clinics, collaborating closely with specialist Health NZ services, primary care, and community providers. Our clients span all age groups and present with a diverse range of needs that require community nursing care, specialist nursing management, and short-term home supports.

This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE), with a schedule of Monday to Friday.
About You
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of nursing experience, including a management or leadership role, and possess a strong understanding of community-based clinical nursing practice. You will demonstrate a client-centered approach, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across various settings. You will thrive in a dynamic environment and take pride in leading a team to deliver effective, safe, and timely community services that result in positive outcomes for clients and support the achievement of Health Targets.
