Our client is seeking a dedicated Cable Jointer to join their team in the Hamilton, Waikato region. This role offers a stable, permanent opportunity, along with continuous training and development to foster career growth. About the Role In this full-time position, you will work a minimum of 40 hours a week from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The hourly wage ranges from $38 to $45, depending on experience. As a Cable Jointer, you will collaborate with a team of Cable Jointers and trainees to ensure that all assigned tasks are completed within specified timeframes while meeting and exceeding client expectations and key performance indicators. Your responsibilities will include working on the local distribution network, performing low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) jointing and termination work, as well as the installation and maintenance of network substations. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: - Proven experience in all aspects of live LV/HV work - At least two years of experience in the High Voltage (HV) industry (110KV – 220KV) and/or Low Voltage (11KV – 33KV) following your training or apprenticeship - Familiarity with essential equipment such as switchgears, transformers, and various types of cables (pilc, oil, gas xlpe), as well as cable joints and terminations (Raychem, 3M, Elastimould, resin) - Leadership experience is advantageous - Proficiency in using hand tools commonly used in construction and maintenance - Knowledge of electrical theory, especially regarding isolations, earthing, and equipotential bonding in HV/LV switchyards - Relevant cable jointing certification - A valid driver’s license, with experience driving appropriate vehicles under various conditions; a heavy truck license is preferred What Makes You Right for This Role?
