About the Role
We are currently seeking customer-focused professionals to join our Orderly team at Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland. Our Orderlies play a vital role in the hospital's daily operations, completing over 35,000 tasks each month. In this position, you will enhance patient care by safely and efficiently transporting patients and items throughout the hospital.
We have the following opportunities available:
- Part-Time roles: 16 hours per week
- Fixed-Term Full-Time roles: 40 hours per week (until 31 October 2025)
Given the nature of the work, flexibility is essential, as you will be required to work across various 8-hour shifts seven days a week. Our rotating roster includes morning, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be physically fit, as the position requires standing and walking for extended periods, with occasional heavy lifting. While prior experience as an Orderly is not necessary, the ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Effective time management skills
- Strong communication abilities
- Experience in customer service
- A physically active lifestyle, with the capability of achieving over 20,000 steps per shift
- A self-driven attitude, with a passion for contributing to the health of our community
- The ability to perform well under pressure in a complex healthcare environment
- An understanding of and alignment with the values of the Counties Manukau District
