    About the Company At Extrastaff, we specialize in providing quality labour solutions across various industries. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Construction Technicians. This is an exciting opportunity to work on significant infrastructure and commercial projects throughout New Zealand. About the Role We are hiring full-time Construction Technicians for deployment across all regions of New Zealand. These positions are permanent, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. Pay rates range from $26.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience. We provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools, ensuring you have what you need to succeed. Key Responsibilities As a Construction Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks based on your skills and capabilities, including: - Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, and tasks while delivering exceptional customer service. - Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level. - Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete. - Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood or wood-strip-block floors. - Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding the patches. - Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using various tools. - General labouring, including cleaning construction sites as instructed by managers. - Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around building sites. - Performing other duties as assigned. Requirements To thrive in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and experience: - Some experience in the construction industry is preferable, but not essential. - A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic. - A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry. - Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures. - Reliability and a hardworking attitude. - Ability to fabricate and install custom joinery and cabinetry. - Experience with general framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting, and architraves. - Precision in measuring and cutting materials. - A strong ability to work as part of a team. - Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. - Collaboration with other trades as necessary. - Must be able to pass a criminal check and drug test. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel Although this role is listed in Auckland, we are recruiting for positions in all regions of New Zealand, based on project requirements. These regions include: North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland. Applicants are encouraged from any of these regions and must be willing to travel or relocate as needed.
