About the Role We are currently looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill multiple permanent full-time positions as IKEA Food Co-workers. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our food operations and enhancing the customer experience. As an IKEA Food Co-worker, your responsibilities will include: - Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting area to uphold food standards and enhance the customer experience. - Supporting food preparation and customer service with a focus on food safety, waste control, and production levels. - Performing physical tasks such as clearing tables, assisting in the dish room, wiping down surfaces, and helping with stocktake. - Engaging in active selling, cash handling, and customer interactions in a fast-paced setting. - Creating a welcoming atmosphere through attentive and heartfelt customer service. - Contributing to a team culture built on IKEA values and being open to new experiences, with a focus on learning and growing in your role. Requirements To be successful as an IKEA Food Co-worker, you should possess the following qualities: - A positive mindset and a commitment to supporting your team. - Comfort with hands-on tasks across various areas within IKEA Food. - A focus on creating a positive experience for customers through friendly and helpful service. - Pride in presenting food that reflects IKEA’s quality and brand standards. - Enthusiasm for learning and gaining new experiences. - The ability to follow processes and procedures that contribute to a smooth workday. - Adherence to IKEA Food and safety routines, including temperature and date checks. - Experience in the fast-food industry or hospitality is desirable but not essential; we value motivation and a willingness to learn. - A commitment to helping create a welcoming and efficient work environment. What You Need to Know - The position is based at our Sylvia Park store in Auckland. Initially, you may work from our temporary office near Sylvia Park or our warehouse in Māngere as we prepare for the store opening. - We are recruiting for several permanent full-time positions, totaling 80 hours per fortnight. - The internal title for this role is IKEA Co-worker, with an expected start date of October 5, 2025. - We will also have part-time roles available in a future recruitment intake, which will be advertised in August. - The recruitment process will begin with an application form, followed by an online test and a video interview for successful candidates. - Our store operates seven days per week, so you must have availability to work a rotating roster, including a mix of day and evening shifts, as well as weekends. - Applications for this position will close on August 4, 2025.
