About the Role
We are currently looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill multiple permanent full-time positions as IKEA Food Co-workers. If you have a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our food operations and enhancing the customer experience.
As an IKEA Food Co-worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting area to uphold food standards and enhance the customer experience.
- Supporting food preparation and customer service with a focus on food safety, waste control, and production levels.
- Performing physical tasks such as clearing tables, assisting in the dish room, wiping down surfaces, and helping with stocktake.
- Engaging in active selling, cash handling, and customer interactions in a fast-paced setting.
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere through attentive and heartfelt customer service.
- Contributing to a team culture built on IKEA values and being open to new experiences, with a focus on learning and growing in your role.
Requirements

What You Need to Know
- The position is based at our Sylvia Park store in Auckland. Initially, you may work from our temporary office near Sylvia Park or our warehouse in Māngere as we prepare for the store opening.
- We are recruiting for several permanent full-time positions, totaling 80 hours per fortnight.
- The internal title for this role is IKEA Co-worker, with an expected start date of October 5, 2025.
- We will also have part-time roles available in a future recruitment intake, which will be advertised in August.
- The recruitment process will begin with an application form, followed by an online test and a video interview for successful candidates.
- Our store operates seven days per week, so you must have availability to work a rotating roster, including a mix of day and evening shifts, as well as weekends.
