About the Role
We are excited to offer a permanent, full-time position for an experienced Perfusionist to join our main Cardiac Centre at Auckland City Hospital. Our Cardiothoracic surgical unit is recognized as the highest volume unit in Australasia. Additionally, a subset of our perfusionists provides services for the Starship Children's Hospital Cardiac service.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Cardiothoracic Service at Auckland City Hospital is the principal Cardiac Centre in New Zealand, offering a comprehensive range of cardiac surgeries for both ischemic and rheumatic heart disease, as well as aortic surgery and heart, lung, and liver transplantation. Our adult caseload is approximately 1,200 procedures annually. We also serve as the national ECMO center, equipped with a dedicated retrieval service.

About You
We are seeking candidates who meet the following requirements:
- A Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s in Perfusion, with certification from the Australasian Board of Perfusion or equivalent (American, UK, or European Boards of Perfusion).
- Familiarity with Stockert S5 heart-lung machines is desirable, with knowledge of Stockert Connect preferred.
- Previous experience as a Perfusionist.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
