About the Role
We are currently seeking Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our exceptional teams within the Younger Persons sector. We have available positions in both outpatient and inpatient settings, with options for full-time or part-time employment. We are open to considering applicants interested in both permanent and fixed-term roles.
Our Younger Persons sector specializes in delivering mental health services to children and adolescents aged birth to 19 years who are experiencing moderate-to-severe mental health conditions. This includes specialized teams focusing on eating disorders, inpatient care, and first episode psychosis, as well as community teams addressing a range of mental health presentations. Our approach emphasizes collaboration with other community agencies to ensure we provide holistic and culturally appropriate services.
We pride ourselves on our multidisciplinary teams that include psychologists, social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists. Together, we maintain high standards of care and foster a supportive and flexible work environment. MHAIDS is dedicated to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) in all our services.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to be vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or hold an equivalent qualification that allows for registration with MCNZ. Completion of specialty training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is essential. We are looking for candidates who can work comfortably and flexibly within a team environment.
