About the Role
We invite you to consider joining our Central Regional Forensic Service, a center of forensic excellence situated in the beautiful lower and east North Island of New Zealand. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those looking to advance their careers in forensic psychiatry while experiencing the stunning natural beauty of our region.
Our Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans the Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District and the Wairarapa District. The Central Regional Forensic Service provides comprehensive services to the Wellington, Wairarapa, Manawatu, Whanganui, Hawke's Bay, and Tairawhiti (Gisborne) districts. Our teams deliver mental health care to prisons, youth offending units, and community settings, including court liaison services for both adult and youth courts.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to be vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or possess an equivalent qualification that qualifies you for registration with MCNZ. While specialty training in Forensic Psychiatry is preferred, we welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience and a commitment to professional development.
