About the Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead our multi-trade maintenance team, ensuring 24/7 maintenance coverage for our expansive property. This role will report directly to our onsite Project Manager and involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including team leadership, task management, work prioritization, online administration, and hands-on trade work. The ideal candidate will possess a guest-focused mindset, extensive experience in managing trades, and a passion for continuous improvement in both processes and service delivery.
What You Will Be Doing
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the maintenance team to deliver uninterrupted service, which includes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and scheduling.
- Triage jobs and manage planned maintenance tasks across our hotel rooms, motels, lodge, and staff accommodation.
- Ensuring that all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems are maintained in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures.
- Upholding a high standard of health, safety, and hygiene across the property.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders, including the Department of Conservation, contractors, and suppliers.
What You Will Bring to the Role
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in managing trades and maintenance work, both preventative and reactive.
- Trade experience as a plumber, builder, electrician, engineer, or site manager.
- Prior experience in property maintenance, preferably in a commercial setting.
- A full, clean New Zealand Driver's License or an equivalent international license.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using online technology for scheduling, document management, and related tasks.
The Role and Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a minimum of 80 hours per fortnight. The annual salary for this role ranges from $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience.
