About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support the operation and execution of the Timaru District Council Road Network Operations and Maintenance Contract. In this role, you will report directly to the Contract Manager and be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance contract. This includes assisting with programming and reporting functions.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinating resources such as equipment, personnel, and subcontractors to complete pavement works and maintain contract obligations.
- Managing site setup, project planning, and quality control for all projects under your supervision.
- Translating contract documentation into actionable work instructions for effective communication with crews and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience supervising teams in a road maintenance environment.
- Understanding and experience in the management and maintenance of both sealed and unsealed pavements, including design aspects.
- Experience managing maintenance-related tasks such as service location, pavement testing, and emergency response event coordination.
- Knowledge of effective pavement drainage practices and techniques.
- Proficiency in Pocket RAMM and RAMM HTML.
- Experience organizing resources, including crews and subcontractors.
- Strong financial acumen with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with a focus on health and safety, quality, and data collection.
