In this role, you will play a vital part in recruiting our senior medical staff, directly contributing to the achievement of national health targets. You will provide both strategic and operational recruitment guidance to our people leaders, ensuring a candidate-centric approach that delivers a seamless experience for candidates and hiring managers alike. Your responsibilities will include mentoring junior team members, leading portfolio-specific projects, and organizing recruitment events. As we navigate a period of transformation at Health New Zealand, we seek individuals who are resilient and eager to help shape an organizational culture that promotes innovation and excellence. Key Responsibilities - Manage the full recruitment process for Senior Medical Officers, from sourcing to onboarding. - Collaborate closely with clinicians to understand the specific vacancies you will be recruiting for. - Deliver recruitment services that align with our workforce strategies and professional registration requirements. - Provide expert advice on sourcing and candidate attraction strategies. - Coach hiring managers on best practices in recruitment and assessment methods. - Ensure timely communication and support for candidates throughout the recruitment process. - Participate in health sector employment initiatives and recruitment events. About the Team/Service/Location Our recruitment team is focused on innovative national and local strategies that will enhance our approach to candidate attraction, branding, and process improvement. You will have the autonomy to manage your portfolio while being supported by a dynamic team that values collaboration and enjoys the challenge of finding exceptional health professionals for our frontline services. This role is ideally based in Northland and will cover the Senior Medical Officer portfolio within the Te Tai Tokerau recruitment team. About You To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience: - A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience in a senior recruitment or talent role. - A minimum of five years of relevant experience in an advisory capacity within recruitment. - Knowledge of New Zealand legislation and its application in a large, complex organization. - Experience in the public health sector is preferred. - Strong relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholders. - A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
