About the Role We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Simulation and Clinical Skills Training Technician to join our team at the Awhina Waitakere Simulation Centre. This role will involve collaboration across both North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital, playing an integral part in supporting the delivery of high-quality simulation-based and clinical skills education. As a valued member of the Clinical Education Team, your responsibilities will include: - Setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Laerdal simulation manikins and task trainers, including SimMan and SimJunior, as well as related accessories. - Supporting audiovisual systems used during simulation and debriefing sessions. - Preparing and resetting training rooms and simulation spaces to facilitate seamless training sessions. - Assisting with moulage, scenario programming, and creating realistic training environments. - Managing inventory, ordering clinical consumables, and ensuring that all equipment is ready for use. - Providing on-site technical support during training sessions and simulation scenarios. - Collaborating with facilitators to ensure that the delivery of simulations aligns with educational objectives. This hands-on, technical role is essential for enhancing the learner experience and maintaining the quality and effectiveness of our simulation-based training programs. The position is covered by the PSA National Health Administration Workers collective agreement and is classified at band 4. About You To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with experience in healthcare simulation technology, clinical training tools, or a similar audiovisual/technical support position. Familiarity with Laerdal manikins, such as SimMan and SimJunior, as well as a working knowledge of AV systems, will be advantageous, although training will be provided for suitable candidates. You should possess: - Strong technical aptitude to operate and maintain simulation equipment and AV systems. - Excellent organizational and time-management skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with diverse clinical and non-clinical stakeholders. - A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a willingness to learn. - A flexible, team-oriented attitude, adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
