Specialist Team Supervisor

About the Role We are looking for an experienced supervisor to join us in a permanent, full-time position, which consists of 40 paid hours per week. This role requires some flexibility, including occasional weekend site work as necessary. As a supervisor, you will oversee a team of up to 10 people, making strong time management skills essential to ensure that tasks are completed correctly and on schedule. This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities. You will conduct site inductions, evaluate and report on team performance, lead Health and Safety meetings, manage accident reporting, ensure quality assurance, and identify and address workplace hazards to maintain a safe environment. It is important to note that this is a hands-on role, and you will also be involved in various cleaning duties. Requirements We are seeking candidates who possess excellent leadership skills to bring out the best in their team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to train others to a very high standard and have knowledge of applicable cleaning methods, materials, and equipment, along with related safety guidelines. While full training will be provided to the right candidate, a willingness to learn and improve is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interactions with both leadership and team members. We value individuals who enjoy engaging with people, including clients and staff, and who have a keen eye for detail in quality assurance. A focus on Health and Safety is crucial, as is experience in the cleaning industry, including specialist cleaning tasks and proven leadership ability. Flexibility, trustworthiness, and a mature outlook are important traits we look for, along with a full New Zealand driver’s license. This role includes, but is not limited to: - Operating machine floor scrubbers to achieve gleaming floors - Conducting high wall dusting to maintain cleanliness - Utilizing carpet machines to keep carpets fresh - Sweeping and polishing using machines for a polished finish - Cleaning windows, whether manually or using water-fed systems - Stripping and sealing vinyl flooring with precision - Water blasting to remove grime effectively - Working at heights while prioritizing safety - Performing trade/builders cleans to address post-construction mess - Supporting general cleaning tasks as needed, with a work schedule that varies, including mornings, evenings, and some weekends.
