OCS Christchurch is a dedicated and professional cleaning service provider, committed to maintaining high standards for our clients. We are currently seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to join our busy team. In this role, you will receive ample support and training while actively contributing to our cleaning operations.
About the Role
As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will lead our cleaning services and participate directly in cleaning activities. You will report to the Contracts Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of all cleaning personnel assigned to you. This position requires a reliable, energetic individual who values cleanliness and has a strong work ethic.
Your work schedule will be from Monday to Friday, 5 AM to 12 PM.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Contract Manager in daily operations
- Covering for cleaning staff during absences or coordinating relief cleaners as needed
- Conducting site inductions for new personnel, including instruction on proper PPE usage and health and safety requirements
- Maintaining on-the-job training routines for all cleaning staff and keeping relevant records at the office
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with team members
- Evaluating and reporting on the use of cleaning products, materials, and equipment
This position is hands-on and requires practical cleaning skills.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
- A full New Zealand Driver's License is essential
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from work
- No criminal background, as Ministry of Justice and NZ Police clearances are required and must be clear at all times
- Strong attention to detail and excellent leadership capabilities
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Good understanding of the English language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Physical fitness, with the ability to lift up to 25 kg
