About the Role
We are looking for motivated individuals to join our water teams, playing a vital role in the maintenance and management of our most valuable resources: water, health, and the environment. This position is based at our Porirua Depot and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continual supply of quality water to our communities with minimal interruptions.
In this role, you will engage in a variety of tasks throughout the Wellington region, including both planned and reactive work. Your responsibilities will include installing and repairing water connections of all sizes, ensuring compliance with trade practices, flushing and charging water mains, and collaborating effectively with various teams and contractors to achieve successful outcomes.
Requirements
To thrive in this position, you will need the following qualifications and attributes:
- Experience in the water industry or civil/construction sector, with proficiency in using hand tools, small plant, and machinery.
- Familiarity with technology, such as iPads or tablets, to accurately record information.
- A strong understanding of and commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A full, clean driver’s license (Class 1) is essential.
- A reliable and hardworking attitude with a willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and standby as required.
