About the Role We are currently looking for a Quarry Operator to join our team at the Blackwell Quarry located on Great Barrier Island, Auckland, New Zealand. The ideal candidate will either reside on Great Barrier Island or be willing to relocate permanently, embracing the island lifestyle and becoming an integral part of our close-knit community. If you do not have prior quarry experience, do not worry; we will provide comprehensive training on site. We are seeking individuals with experience in operating loaders, excavators, and Class 4 trucks. In this role, you will be responsible for: - Operating quarry plant and equipment to load, transport, and stockpile materials. - Carrying out routine checks, maintenance, and cleaning of machinery and equipment. - Assisting with site preparation, drilling, blasting, and crushing activities as needed. - Monitoring material quality and providing feedback to management. - Recording production data and maintaining accurate logs; training will be provided. - Communicating clearly and respectfully with team members, contractors, and site visitors. A strong commitment to health and safety is essential in this role to ensure that all work is conducted safely and aligns with our Fulton Hogan safety values. Requirements We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications: - A New Zealand Class 4 driver’s license, with truck driving experience preferred. - A WTR endorsement and experience operating loaders, excavators, and Class 4 trucks. - Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a quarry, construction, or mining environment is preferred. - Physical fitness to undertake manual and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. - Availability to work primarily Monday to Friday, with the potential for additional hours and weekends as required.
