About the Role
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for experienced Paving Operators to join our team in Auckland. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various plant machinery, including the essential paving machine used for applying asphalt and other materials to roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces.
As a Paving Operator, you will work on a variety of civil infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with your paving side operator and other crew members. We are looking for a multi-skilled plant machine operator who is eager to contribute to our projects.
In addition to operating paving machinery, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating paving machinery, including asphalt pavers, rollers, excavators, and other related equipment.
- Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining paving equipment to ensure efficient operation and high-quality output.
- Controlling and monitoring the paving process to ensure even application of asphalt and other materials.
- Participating in pre-start meetings to understand hazards and health and safety risks.
- Performing general labor duties as required to meet project deadlines.
- Collaborating closely with other construction team members, including laborers, forepersons, and site supervisors.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence and WTR Endorsement are required; a Class 2 NZ Drivers Licence is preferred.
- Strong competency in operating asphalt pavers, rollers, and excavators within the construction industry.
- A willingness to assist with laboring duties when necessary.
- Availability to work day and night shifts, as well as weekends, as needed.
This is a full-time, permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week. The hourly wage ranges from $26.34 to $36.85, with potential penal rates depending on the chosen agreement.
