About the Role
We are seeking skilled Carpenters to join our team. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of carpentry duties, from shaping and cutting materials to installing structures and fixtures. Your responsibilities may also include working on projects across the country, so flexibility in work locations is preferred.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Cutting materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
- Adhering to safety rules and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials.
- Installing structures such as windows, frames, flooring, and other fixtures.
- Verifying the accuracy of structures using tools like plumb bobs and levels.
- Building or repairing wooden fixtures in buildings.
- Selecting and ordering necessary materials.
- Assembling and fastening materials to create frameworks.
- Inspecting structures for damage and performing repairs as needed.
- Maintaining records and providing written progress reports.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for work above ground level.
- Finishing surfaces of woodwork or wallboard.
- Creating structures or forms for concrete work.
- Coordinating with subcontractors for specialized tasks.
- Covering subfloors to prevent moisture and laying various types of flooring.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard.
- Applying decorative paneling to ceilings or walls.
- Preparing cost estimates for clients or employers.
- Handling hazardous materials as required.
- Performing minor plumbing, welding, or concrete mixing tasks.
- Completing any other duties as assigned.
Pay Conditions
The pay rate for this position ranges from a minimum of $30.00 per hour to a maximum of $40.00 per hour.
Hours of Work
We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in carpentry or a relevant qualification.
- A friendly demeanor combined with strong time management and work ethic.
- A commitment to continuous learning and skill development within the industry.
- A solid understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Location
You will primarily work in areas including Auckland, Waikato, Northland, Nelson, Canterbury, and Otago.
This position is a permanent, full-time role.
