About the Role We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Lifeguards to join our team at the Arena Aquatic Centre. In this role, you will work in a supportive and engaging atmosphere, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our patrons. Our lifeguards are tasked with the professional supervision of our pools, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and contributing to an exceptional customer experience. The position involves casual shifts to cover staff absences, and we operate daily from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM. We are looking for individuals who can provide flexibility during these hours and support our team as needed. Requirements To be considered for this position, applicants must be at least 16 years old due to the age requirements of the National Lifeguard Award. You will need to attend mandatory training sessions on Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While prior experience in an aquatic environment is advantageous, we will provide comprehensive training, including First Aid Certification. We are looking for candidates who are: - Reliable and willing to actively contribute to the team's success - Able to remain calm in high-pressure situations and follow established procedures - Competent swimmers with a commitment to maintaining swimming fitness - Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to complete a swim test that includes the following: - 200 meters swim in 6 minutes - 50 meters breaststroke swim - 25 meters side stroke swim - 5 minutes of treading water - Retrieval of an item from the deepest part of the pool (2 meters) Successful applicants will receive training for the lifeguard award and First Aid qualification.
