About the Role We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers for immediate and ongoing deployment on various infrastructure and commercial projects throughout New Zealand. These full-time, permanent positions guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week. The specific site locations will depend on project demand, making this an excellent opportunity for those willing to relocate or travel as needed. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering plans and drawings to cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh. You will tie rebar using the correct techniques for various reinforcement systems and ensure that steel is securely placed within formwork prior to concrete pouring. Adhering to health, safety, and quality standards on-site is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently within large construction teams under strict deadlines. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should have a minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, whether in New Zealand or overseas. The ability to read and work from technical drawings is crucial, along with strong physical fitness and attention to detail. Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred, and relevant trade experience or qualifications will be advantageous. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is listed in Otago, we are recruiting for positions to be filled throughout all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. This includes areas in both the North Island, such as Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, and Wellington, as well as the South Island, including Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. Benefits We offer competitive pay ranging from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, with the assurance of a minimum of 30 hours per week.
