About the Role
We are currently seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and experienced nurse to join our friendly team as a Nurse Specialist within our Pediatric Neurology department. This part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed-term position will last for one year to cover parental leave.
In this advanced practice specialty role, the Nurse Specialist will be responsible for conducting assessments and diagnostic reasoning, utilizing their specialist knowledge of complex neurological conditions. Case management and coordination with patients, their families, and health professionals across inpatient areas and intersectoral services are essential components of this position.
About the Service
The Pediatric Neurology service focuses on diagnosing and managing disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles in babies, children, and teenagers. Our team is dedicated to providing ongoing outpatient care for neurological issues, as well as managing inpatient and day stay care for patients with chronic disorders.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Be an experienced pediatric registered nurse
- Hold current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and possess an Advanced Practice Credential (APC)
- Have a proficient or expert level Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio or equivalent
- Ideally, possess a Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma
- Have experience in a leadership role, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality healthcare
- Exhibit excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a bi-cultural environment
