About the Role
We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Advisor for the Northern Region's National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP). In this 0.4 FTE permanent role, you will work alongside the Regional Clinical Lead NBSP as a key point of contact for clinical advice related to bowel screening. You will be recognized as a 'super user' with expert clinical knowledge of the program, providing guidance at the regional level while supporting national clinical leadership.
About the Team/Service/Location
The National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) is dedicated to saving lives by detecting bowel cancer at an early stage when treatment is often most effective. Our team works collaboratively to ensure that patients receive timely and appropriate care throughout their screening journey.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- A current New Zealand Registered Nurse with a valid Annual Practising Certificate
- A Post Graduate diploma in specialty practice
- At least 5 years of experience as a colonoscopy specialty nurse or in a similar role
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a senior nursing position within the NBSP
- Experience in teaching and managing patients with positive bowel screening results
- Demonstrated expert clinical knowledge in the NBSP patient management system
In addition to these qualifications, you should possess a commitment to service excellence and a professional, sensitive approach when addressing the needs of individuals and groups. We value self-directed, proactive individuals who are confident in negotiation and consultation.
This role is flexible and can be based anywhere within the four districts. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing training and support to nursing staff working within the NBSP across the Northern Region.
