About the Role
We are currently seeking a Print Assistant to join our printing team at our large manufacturing site in Hornby, Christchurch. In this role, you will report to the Printing Supervisor and work closely with a qualified printer to produce high-quality goods.
We are looking for candidates who possess a strong mechanical aptitude, as you will assist in operating the printing press and managing ink collection and relocation. The position involves rotating shifts, which change weekly, and we are committed to providing comprehensive training for your success in this long-term role.
The available shift patterns are as follows:
Day shift: Monday - Friday, 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
Afternoon shift: Monday - Friday, 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Night shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred, though not essential
- Experience in machine operation is beneficial
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills, along with mechanical competency
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from work
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and have no criminal convictions
- Attention to detail and a thorough approach to tasks
- Team-oriented mindset with good planning and organizational skills
