About the Role
We are excited to offer a 2-year fixed-term position focused on developing a roadmap aimed at reducing emissions and enhancing energy efficiency across Hall's national fleet and refrigeration systems at our cold storage sites. In this role, you will lead energy audits, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to our operations' sustainability goals.
As the successful candidate, you will report directly to the Talley’s Group Energy Engineer. You will benefit from ongoing training and mentorship through hands-on project work, providing you with valuable opportunities for professional development and learning.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement an energy efficiency and decarbonisation strategy for our fleet and cold storage locations.
- Conduct energy audits and lead feasibility studies to identify potential improvements.
- Identify and assess new opportunities for energy savings and decarbonisation.
- Stay informed about emerging energy technologies and evaluate their applications for our business.
- Produce clear and insightful energy reports and business cases.
- Provide early-stage technical and commercial advice on new energy initiatives.
- Support CAPEX planning with robust commercial modeling.
- Engage and upskill site teams to promote energy-saving improvements across operations.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- A recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate in engineering or a related field, preferably with a focus on energy, sustainability, or mechanical systems.
- A self-starter with a strong desire to learn and contribute positively to our initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as you will work closely with various teams across the organization.
- A genuine interest in sustainability, technology, and innovation.
