About the Role We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Butcher to join our butchery team. If you have a passion for quality and take pride in your work, we would be excited to hear from you. The role involves early morning starts at 5 AM, with specific workdays and weekly rosters to be discussed during the interview process. Requirements To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following qualifications and attributes: - A qualified butcher or an experienced butcher with a strong understanding of meat cuts and preparation techniques. - Reliability and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently. - Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork. - Flexibility to work varied hours, particularly during our busy Easter and Christmas seasons. - Willingness to adjust start and finish times to meet operational needs. What You'll Be Doing As a member of our butchery department, your responsibilities will include: - Preparing a variety of meats for display and sale, including deboning, trimming, cutting, mincing, and grinding, while minimizing waste. You will also be responsible for packing and labeling products. - Producing small goods using selected and prepared cuts of meat. - Operating machinery for mincing, mixing, and tenderizing. - Maintaining display cases and freezers, ensuring they are stocked, clean, and merchandised to our standards. - Assisting customers by offering advice on meat cuts and their uses.
