Our network includes Wellington Regional Hospital, Hutt Hospital, and Kenepuru Hospital, as well as the Kapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu. About the Role We are seeking full-time or part-time consultant radiologists to join our dynamic team at Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital, and Hutt Hospital. We are particularly interested in candidates with specializations in Cardio-thoracic Imaging and/or Musculoskeletal Imaging, although we encourage applicants with various expertise to apply. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for the following: - Reporting and supervising imaging lists, including CT, MRI, and Ultrasound - Conducting fluoroscopy procedures relevant to your specialty - Preparing for and participating in clinical meetings/MDMs while liaising with clinicians as necessary - Contributing to our teaching commitments as a RANZCR training center for radiology trainees in years 1-5 - Participating in the diagnostic radiology on-call roster For Cardio-thoracic Imaging, our department provides secondary and tertiary Cardiology, Respiratory, and Cardio-Thoracic surgical services for local and Central Regional patients. You will work closely with Cardiology to deliver Cardiac and Aortic imaging and engage in regular multidisciplinary meetings centered on diagnostics and lung cancer. For Musculoskeletal Imaging, you will have the opportunity to pursue subspecialist work within a busy tertiary center, with a focus on severe trauma, multi-ligament injuries, and various conditions such as arthritis and osteomyelitis. Interventional opportunities include ultrasound-guided injections, spine injections, and tumor biopsies, with support from our interventional radiologists. You will also participate in teaching registrars and may engage with medical students and clinicians from other specialties. About the Team/Service/Location Joining our multi-skilled and close-knit team offers you the chance to relocate to one of the most beautiful regions of New Zealand. Our supportive department encourages the development of special interests and ongoing education. Weekly multidisciplinary meetings foster a collaborative working environment. The Consultant Radiologist team collaborates closely with services across the district, including Emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services. Most pediatric services are delivered in the newly completed Te Wao Nui - Child Health service at Wellington Regional Hospital, where our Pediatric Radiologists play an essential role within the wider diagnostic Radiologist team. About You To be successful in this role, you will need to be vocationally registered in Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) and hold a FRANZCR or equivalent qualification that allows for vocational registration with the MCNZ. You should have experience in Radiology specific to Cardio-thoracic imaging or Musculoskeletal imaging and be willing to participate in the diagnostic radiology on-call roster.
