Description
About the Company
We are Fujitsu, a global leader in technology and business solutions dedicated to transforming organizations and enhancing lives through innovation. With a rich heritage of expertise, we continuously strive to contribute positively to society and the success of our customers.
About the Role
As an Advanced On-site Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering technical support as part of our service delivery and project deployment efforts. Your responsibilities will include installation, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and maintenance of various technologies. You will respond to customer inquiries regarding operational issues and malfunctions, offering advice on preventative maintenance and configuration adjustments to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.
Your work may require mobility or may be based on-site at a customer location or campus. You will support desktop infrastructure and services across multiple technology streams, including hardware, operating systems, software, networks, servers, and printing services.
In this role, you will be expected to respond to and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and adhere to Fujitsu's breach reporting process for any SLAs that are not met. Additionally, you will be responsible for asset refresh, relocation, deployment, and decommissioning while ensuring data integrity within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
You will also maintain and perform housekeeping tasks for the customer's physical infrastructure, which includes desktop equipment, peripherals, telephony, print devices, and audio/visual conferencing equipment. It is essential to manage customer expectations by keeping them informed throughout the process and notifying them of any delays. All customer interactions and activities must be logged accurately in the appropriate client ITSM tool.
Other responsibilities include the timely escalation of operational issues, accurate recording and submission of timesheets and project efforts, completion of required training, adherence to workplace health and safety practices, and undertaking additional tasks as assigned by team leaders or Fujitsu management.
About You
We are looking for candidates with experience in troubleshooting and maintaining PCs within a Windows environment. Familiarity with end-user technology support, specifically within the Windows family of operating systems (XP and Windows 7 are advantageous), is essential. A strong customer-focused approach is crucial, along with proven experience in desktop management tools and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, smart devices, and printers.
You should also have experience in resolving software conflicts and performance issues, as well as using desktop diagnostic tools and incident management tools. Familiarity with problem management within a desktop team and basic knowledge of the ITIL framework is desirable. A tertiary qualification relevant to the Information Technology industry or equivalent certification is preferred.
The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and guidance is essential for success in this role.
