About the Role
We are seeking an experienced administrator to join our Theatre Perioperative and Interventional Services team in a permanent full-time position. This role consists of 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.
Within the Day of Surgery Administration (DOSA) area, you will play a key role in preparing patients for surgery and providing care in the post-operative area. As an administrator, you will support our Operating Theatre team by collaborating closely with team leaders, including nursing and medical staff, to ensure all administrative tasks are executed efficiently.
The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. This is a varied role that requires a team player who is eager to learn and contribute to the overall success of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and effective reception services
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and patients
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed promptly and accurately
- Support staff across the department with technical aspects of patient management systems
About the Team/Service
The DOSA team plays a crucial role in facilitating a smooth surgical journey for our patients. We are responsible for preparing patients for theatre, coordinating pre-operative processes, and providing post-operative care. We work collaboratively with various specialties to ensure the highest level of patient care throughout the surgical process. Our focus is on patient safety, comfort, and well-being, and we foster a supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork and communication.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Adaptability to changing demands and the ability to problem-solve under pressure
- A strong customer service focus and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting, with preference for experience in a theatre environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
